When dealing with networking in a business situation, there are negative and positive behaviors. These behaviors are brought about by the aspect of networking in a business. Among the positive behaviors are; huge exposure, more pointed exposure, find partners, gauge the waters, and inexpensiveness. On this basis, when networking in a business context the social networking websites offers various perspective of customers. This can be very friendly, amusing, enjoyable and so no. additionally, the negative behaviors are; there are costs whether there are sales or not. Additionally, there is less emphasis on personal development as well as financial freedom.

usiness context needs to be built over a long period of time. On this basis, if there is some personal interest in a certain business there will be some trust in that business. On this basis, personal interests indicate that an individual is interested in that business. On the other hand, when one is friendly and approachable by customers trust in that business will be easily built and within the least time possible. A person who is available when needed by customers will experience business success in long run. Additionally, trust in business may be built when one acts secretively. In this case, there will be successes in cases of competitions.

In a business context there may be a relationship between the employee and the client in an office. Additionally, there may be a relationship between an employer and the employee in an office. Importantly, the relationship between the employee and the client is very important as it will determine the amount of profits accrued in that business as a result of customers' satisfaction. This relationship can be maintained when customers are adequately satisfied with the services provided. On the other hand, the relationship between the employee and employer is very crucial as it will tell how the work is being performed. It can be maintained by employees performing their best level while the employers adequately satisfying the employees through motivating them.

Importantly, when maintaining the relationships in a business there may be challenges like lack of training of the employees which may result to employees not adequately satisfying their clients. On the other hand, the employers may not be motivating employees making them perform poorly. The clients may be very disturbing hence annoying the employees.

Basically, problems occurring in business relationships may be minimized by making sure that there is respect in every sense of relationship. This can be obtained if employees are well satisfied and hence they perform well towards the employers and the clients. Additionally, the employers should make sure that the services provided in that business are of high quality in order to satisfy the clients. Also the recruited employees should be well trained in order to improve their performance.

In a business, relationships can be managed by satisfying employees by motivating them which would help in improving relationships in businesses in future. Certainly, when employees are satisfied they will be willing and well motivated to provide the clients with high quality services which will improve the business performance in future. In order to do this, it is of importance to consider increasing payments given to employees and provide them with trainings. Additionally, employees will feel more motivated to work if they are given leave and other benefits in their places of work.

Australian Institute of Professional Education (AIPE) provides services to the students in Australian colleges. It is located in a modern, spacious, and air conditioned premises in North Sydney. On this basis, students should join AIPE because it provides students with better presentation techniques as well as reducing fear of presenting before other students. Further, through working together in AIPE students are in a position to network with other international students and get the best information about any topic of issue. There are internet services provided to the students, first year students are given a 10% discount if payments are made in advance. Certainly, the AIPE offers its students with a complex student support networks it terms of employment advice, counseling or information concerning upcoming social proceedings.

It is of importance to note that, verbal or written presentations will help students in AIPE to learn better presentation techniques as well as reducing fear of presenting before other students. In this case therefore students will be more encouraged to learn presentation techniques. Moreover, verbal or written presentation will help in cross-cultural exchange of ideas and experience. Further, there is an interaction where many people interact and hence educate each other. For those students who are not fluent in talking especially when they are before other students it would be a very great chance for them to be taught how to go about it.

It is of importance to note that, the major role of Australian Institute of Professional Education alumni tries to unite people in colleges and other institutions of higher learning. Basically, it helps to encourage those students in universities and colleges to form a network where they can help each other in terms of encouragements, advices, counseling and other issues on matters concerning issues of life after school. This it achieves by bringing people together and providing a website where students can learn from others online. Additionally, it achieves this by creating and extending it networking to so many students in the whole of Australia and to other international students.

A point worth noting is that, there are different ways of improving networking ability of AIPE alumni. In this case, internet is a very viable means of communication where students will be sending their comments to a certain created website or an email address. In addition, there should be some selected individuals who will be receiving information from different students and giving feedbacks. In order to strongly maintain networking, there is a great need to have annual meetings in one place where contentious issues will be discussed

Technical support to troubleshoot common network security

Technical support to troubleshoot common network security

Network security is very important to a business for its success as taking precautions to secure the company’s financial assets. While they share common problems in that regard (acts of theft), there are some differences in it: theft of network information which can be done "out of sight", while those who loot the company's inventory can't hide behind an ISP address or store stolen information on a thumb drive.

There are different kinds of problems in network security which are listed below:

A.) Employees: A Common Problem

The most common network security problem is not the outside threats—it has to do with a company’s own employees and by the human errors or failures.

Humans make mistakes but sometimes that is because of inexperience or improper training, and sometimes it is due to incorrect assumption was reached.

1) Piracy Problem

Another common network security problem is the compromise of the intellectual property that is due to piracy. Fortunately we have some technical mechanisms (copyright codes, digital watermarks) that aid in enforcing copyright laws.

2) Information Extortion and Hackers

Deliberate information extortion (blackmail, information disclosure), acts of sabotage (destroying a network system or its information), or an act of theft (illegally acquiring network information) are the common network security problems.

Hackers who gain access to network system information sometimes tries to resell the stolen information back to the company or threaten to release it to the world at large, as well as sometimes selling it to a company’s competitor.

3) Software Attacks

Another common network security problem is software attacks (worms, viruses, denial-of-service and macros). These network security problems are targeted to damage or destroy a targeted system so that users cannot use the service. And, unfortunately, they can still manage to disrupt or destroy network security systems for extensive periods of time and at an astronomical cost financially.

4) A Natural Problem: Nature

But another common network security problem is not because of human error or intent; it is due to forces of nature: lightning, flood, fire and earthquake. And some other common network security problems are equipment failure, outdated technology, issues with ISP or WAN service or software failures and errors.

It is very easy for a network administrator to deal with the problem of LAN settings only if he is well aware of the network structure. The problems which occur in hardware and software are not difficult to deal because there are many options available in market to make the adjustments. The first step you may take to rectify your network is to make the list of the software applications and hardware devices. Second step would be to identify the problems and third step will be to identifying the ways of troubleshooting. While one who is involve in troubleshooting process can seek the help of experts. In order to resolve connectivity issues you have to identify any duplication in the IP addresses, provide same gateway address to all connected PCs, check if the network cables for any repair or they are properly attached to network switches and LAN cards. Identify the firewall settings and make sure the traffic which is travelling in and out is not hindered. Make sure you provide accurate proxy server settings to connect to the internet. Try to reduce the burden of the network by removing the load of heavy applications. In order to improve the service and performance of your network delete unwanted shortcuts, get rid of the low memory, divide the network in subnets to distribute the load of entire network, clear browsers history on regular basis. It is considerable to increase the physical memory, remove the unwanted software’s from the system, make use of 10/100 Mbps LAN card support and connect to network using switches. It is recommended to use switches in place of hubs because switches are an intelligent and versatile device.

Importance Of Wireless Network Security

Posted on 08:46 by Unknown
Importance Of Wireless Network Security
Wireless connections have become an increasingly popular way of providing internet access. Many people prefer it for their home connections as well as in the workplace because of the high speed Internet connectivity and flexibility of usage without a LAN connection. Though wireless has made providing internet access quite easy, it also presents many potential dangers in the form of a number of security problems. Configuring the necessary security features can sometimes feel confusing, time-consuming and non-intuitive.

As computer networks are the most common method for business to send all manner of data, classified or otherwise, security becomes a highly important part of the wireless network structure. The security level should always be updated and maintained to ensure the proper protection of data integrity and confidentiality that one would expect from a wired network connection. There is the dangerous possibility of any wireless network adapter within the range of another network adapter to easily access the other network.

According to some statistics, the amount of non secure wireless access points is steadily growing, with a large percentage of access points having little or no security enabled. An increase in availability of free tools over the internet has provided many with the tools needed to abuse unprotected wireless networks, thus posing a serious threat to businesses.

There are many reasons for this widespread lack of security. One source is ignorance or laziness on the part of network administrators. Particularly in small businesses and home connections, people are unaware of the seriousness of this issue and become complacent, not worrying so long as they are able to use the wireless connection to browse the internet or access files remotely.

By overlooking wireless security, businesses are essentially inviting a seemingly limitless pool of opportunistic hackers to access data transmitted across the unprotected network. After all, an open network not only provides unmonitored access to the internet, but also leaves open access to saved files and confidential data.

Poor security can result from even the simplest mistakes. For example, many businesses forget to change the default administrator passwords that hardware is shipped with. These passwords are readily available online, so it's hardly challenge to acquire them. Additionally, all wireless hardware comes with a standard system ID. Like default administrative passwords, this information is easily found online. Simply changing these passwords to something unique can go a long way to securing a wireless network.

Another mistake often made by small businesses using wireless networks is neglecting to put a firewall in place. Many wireless routers have rudimentary firewalls built in. It is important to learn how the firewall works so that it can be configured properly. Of equal importance for security is enabling encryption. While there will always be methods to circumvent these measures, they will certainly keep all but the most determined hackers from causing trouble.

Security should be a priority for all businesses using a wireless network. Implementing such measures will prevent unauthorized access to vital financial information and other documents, thus keeping your business safe.

A Secure Network Is A Productive Network

Posted on 07:08 by Unknown
A Secure Network Is A Productive Network

Because it's Cyber Security Month, security has been top of mind for me, I've realized that network security plays a silent role in almost everything we do.

Last week our power went out. This is pretty rare where I live, because I'm on the same power grid as Disney World; which means that there are two major power sources sending electricity our way (imagine the cost of a power outage to Disney World!). I really never thought it would happen. Even the year that Central Florida was hit by three hurricanes the power never falterd here. But, a little transformer blew in town and knocked the lights out. No power, no network. So, I picked up my laptop and scooted out to the local Starbucks without giving it a second thought.

My job requires travel. I log in from customer sites, hotels, airports, restaurants and really anyplace I can find WIFI all the time.

No matter where I am I can access my company network and do my job. Actually I'm a full time telecommuter so remotely accessing the network is the norm for me. I have a Cisco phone on my desk that has a San Jose number and people only know I'm in Florida when I tell them (which is usually when they want to schedule a meeting at 8:00 p.m. my time). No matter where I am I can work. Which is great. I can't imagine how hard it would be to return from a business trip without having access to the network. The amount of potentially lost time is staggering.

And I'm not alone. I recently Tweeted an article in the New York Times about a small business CEO setting up an office in her home with direct connections to her business to give her the flexibility she needs to juggle being a CEO and a new mom! As our society has evolved to the point where dual income households are the norm and business requires travel being able to work remotely is the key to ensuring that your employees are productive (and happy)

The unsung hero at the center of remote working is a good VPN solution.

Without it working remotely wouldn't be possible, and tying people to their desks seems a little draconian in this day and age. A VPN can also make it easier to expand your business because new location can share network resources and information.

So, how do you select a small business network security solution? How do you determine your needs?

Here's a list of considerations:

Would being able to work from outside the office increase productivity and job satisfaction?

Do your growth plans include opening another location?

Do any of your vendors or customers need to access your network?

Do you need to provide wireless access at your facility?

Do you want to provide guest wireless access?

Do you have information that only some of your employees should be able to access? (such as Financial or HR data)

Once you've answered these questions I recommend finding a Certified Partner. Security is a journey, not a destination and the environment constantly changes as the bad guys invent new ways to be bad.

Networking Success - Turbo Charge Your Networking?

Networking Success - Turbo Charge Your Networking?

We would all like to get more business and close more of those big deals. Getting out and networking is a great way to initiate the process. You go to a networking event, talk to a room full of potential clients or individuals who could lead you to potential clients. You already know who your ideal customer is and how well your product or service can help them. Many have it in their minds that if they could just meet more of the right people, they could close more sales and get more business.

While this may all be true, don't make the mistake of trying to close the deal RIGHT NOW! This simply means, get out to as many good networking events as necessary, but when meeting your contacts focus on setting up the groundwork for building relationships.

Many times I've been to networking events and I must mention that too many people try to turbo charge the process of closing the deal.

No one wants to admit it because of the time frame involved, but there is a process that occurs prior to closing or attaining new business.

Just envision what took place when your current friendships were cultivated. There was a definite point in which you first met, followed by the discovery of commonality, a period of bonding or increased trust, and last but certainly not least, the continuance of enjoyable fellowship between you.

Whether you're just starting out networking, or have some experience, consider the big picture and the natural progression of basic relationships when chatting with someone for the first time.

Of course you'll be looking at the person's business type and contemplating ways you can help each other, but credibility is key in order to do business.

Only in rare cases can you accomplish the "Turbo Charged Close", if ever.

Have a conversation, ask questions, and build rapport while gathering information. Put your ears to work and never forget that a smile partnered with genuine interest can firm up a future meeting. Just keep in touch and learn more about them.

Soon rapport turns to trust and trust info friendship. This can lead to sales and even referrals. This may seem like a long process but there is no substitute. One night stands produce poor results for long term relationships in personal lives and business affairs are no different. In other words, put the time in and create solid professional allies.

Do you want to learn more about networking and the top websites for finding the best business events? I have just completed my brand new guide for Professional Networking Success:

The Value of Your Network and Networking

Posted on 03:03 by Unknown
The Value of Your Network and Networking

"The value of a network grows in proportion to the square of the number of users."

Metcalf's Law

In an increasingly noisy world, we are all becoming more immune and even resistant to messages and information from others.

Go back a generation or two and you'll find most business/personal transactions were done on a handshake with someone you knew or got to know through someone you knew. Your route to success today is still tied to your roots . . . the relationships you have built in your life, on trust.

A Network is a group or system of related or connected parts. The action form of Network is Networking - the exchange of information or services among individuals, groups, or institutions.

Both the Network and Networking are important.

Most people are familiar with the principle of Six Degrees of Separation, where it has been proven that almost all human beings are no more than six people or contacts apart.

But without an intentional strategy to build your network or to be involved in networking, Six Degrees of Separation is only a mathematical principle with little or no intrinsic value.

Think about it. Who do you prefer to do business with and provide referrals for? The usual answer is people you already know. The key is to get to personally know and connect with even more individuals. The more people you are directly connected with, the more people you will have inside your network - and also waiting just six contacts away from you.

The art of building a valuable network is strategic in nature - it does not happen by accident.

Successful networking is built on trust. Essentially, it is more about giving than getting.

Inexperienced networkers have the attitude of what can I get from this group or person when, in fact, the opposite mental set must be present to build a long-term network. Yes, we must be strategic with the individuals and groups with whom we connect, but we must have in our heart: what can we give or contribute, not what can we take.

Networking is also about quality, not quantity. It took me several years to learn not to be anxious or frantic when attending networking events or opportunities. I used to try to meet as many people as possible. With that approach, I met everyone but really knew no one.

Building relationships takes time and effort. This holds true in the networking world. I have found that if I go to an event or attend some type of networking opportunity and connect (not meet) with just one or two individuals, my time has been well invested. The challenge is that today's society wants us to think that the fast and the furious win the race. When building a network, being focused and intentional is far more productive.

Networking is a principle that usually defies logic or predictability. Many of us will try to determine in advance who and what will come out of a specific network or contacts. My experience is the exact opposite. Your successful contact, connections, and contracts will usually come from where you least expect them. The best examples of this are the true stories each of us has lived.

Here is an example. In 1989 I joined the National Speakers Association (NSA) and attended my first national convention in Dallas, Texas. Admittedly it was an intimidating event; I met Zig Ziglar, Cavett Robert, and other luminaries from the speaking industry. On the first day, I met fellow Canadian speaker Brian Lee and we became friends. The next year at the NSA National Conference in Atlanta, Brian introduced me to his friend Patti, a trainer who lived in Atlanta. Patti and I also became friends.

Here is where the story reveals the power of a network. Two years later (1992), Patti called me, - all excited. "Ken, I have just met this person here in Atlanta who is looking for trainers for a large project in Canada. I gave Jim your name. Here is his information . . ."

I called Jim the next day and soon thereafter, we met. Jim and his committee selected me to work with them. That single contact referred by Patti resulted in a contract with a Fortune 100 company that, over 10 years, was worth over million dollars to our firm. Never could I have anticipated or predicted that sequence of events. I also wonder where I would be without that single contact made with Brian Lee over 15 years ago.

No matter what your need, focus, or interest, there is almost always an association, network, or group of like-minded individuals. Find out who and where these groups meet. Use the Internet to search for these groups; they range from obvious business organizations to associations for Parents with ADHD Children to thousands of other groups.

I encourage you that whenever possible, be part of a live event. The impact and quality of a person-to-person interaction cannot be replaced by phone calls or email.

Be intentional, be strategic, be giving, and watch what happens. You will be amazed at the power of networking. Remember the old cliché - success is not about what you know, but who you know!

Action Steps to Help You Increase the Value of Your Network

First you must acknowledge that your network and networking are highly influencing your success level.
Building a true network of value does not happen by accident.
Become intentional and strategic about your network and networking activities. Determine how you want your network to look and who should be in it. Define its reason or benefit.
Find out where the individuals you want to target are already meeting or if they are already part of a network.
Be clear about your objectives and purpose.
Always, always, always focus on what you can give not take from the network. Think of what you can offer or contribute; let people know about it.
Become likable, confident, interesting, and attractive.
Think quality, not quantity.
Stay connected on a regular basis in some form or another by letter, email, phone, or in person.
Be willing to let go. Sometimes you might think an individual or organization fits your purpose, passion, and direction but if that is really not the case, acknowledge that you might create more mutually beneficial relationships elsewhere. Because none of us has unlimited time, we must prioritize our networking and networks.
Have fun, enjoy, and let the process unfold. Don't try to control it - just be in it.

Network ip security

and which are different analogue closed circuit television cameras can send and receive the data through computer or internet. Though many cameras that do this are webcams the term IP camera is frequently useful only to those used for the security purpose. The initial centralized camera was introduced in 1996 by Axis communications. It was known as Axis Net eye 200 and was introduced by the group of Martin Green and Carl Axel. It used a custom web server inside to the camera. In the late 1999 the organization started using fixed Linux to operate their camera. The initial camera was introduced in 1999 by Robotics. IP cameras are accessible at decree from 0.3 to 11 mega pixels. In the customer TV trade in the early on 21st century there has been a move towards high description videos.

TYPES OF IP CAMERAS

There are basically two types of IP cameras.
•  Centralized cameras they require a central network video recorder to grip the recording, alarm and video management.
•  Decentralized cameras they do not require a central network video recorder as the camera has recording ability built in and can thus record directly to storage media digital.

Such as hard disk drives, flash drives, and network storage attached.

ADVANTAGES
•  Two way audio through a single network. Cable allows its users to communicate with what they are watching.
•  High image decree IP cameras have a decree of high megapixels and HDTV image quality at per second 30 frames.
•  Flexibility IP cameras can rotate around everywhere on an IP networking.
•  Distributed aptitude with IP cameras can be located in cameras they allowing in analytics solutions.
•  Transmission of command of pan, tilt, zoom cameras through only one wire.
•  Authentication and encryption IP cameras give safe and secure data transmission through authentication and encryption methods such as WPA, AES and WEP.
•  Remote accessibility live video from selected camera can be seen from any computer.
•  Cost benefit for large security systems. Research shows that for system with not more than 16 cameras analogue devices are very cheaper from 16 and 32 they are equal.

Google Social Networking - The Social Networking Alternative

Posted on 06:10 by Unknown
Google Social Networking - The Social Networking Alternative
Google is huge and seems to be the biggest at everything on the internet. Although there was one part of the internet that Google wasn't involved in and that was social networking, however they are now trying their hand at social networking as well. As Google has become the biggest in its field in many areas on the internet including search engines, email and paid advertising, they will also aim at being the biggest in social networking.

Social networking websites such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are incredibly popular worldwide and in fact they have become quite a phenomenon. These social websites offer a fantastic opportunity for people to connect with other people all over the world. People can connect with their friends, their family, the work colleagues and businesses can use these sites to reach out to new customers. There are literally millions of people worldwide that use social networking websites and now many businesses are also using them as part of their marketing plan. A business can increase its customer base drastically by using social networking websites.

So where does Google fit into the social networking scene? Google has now joined the game with its very own social networking website called 'Orkut'. A very strange sounding word I know but one that will soon be common to us all as this networking site becomes more and more popular on the internet.

Orkut has become very popular in Asia and also in Latin America and is now also gaining in popularity in the United States. As with any project that Google embarks on, they are working hard at making their social networking site one of the biggest on the internet. Google is aiming for Orkut to dominate the social networking market so that they can have the same success, if not more, as Facebook and other social network sites have had. Orkut has grown incredibly in popularity in China and Japan and has had more than 11 million visitors in just one month alone.

Facebook is certainly one of the biggest, if not the biggest, social networking site in the world and only time will tell if Google's Orkut will have the same success and become as big as Facebook. One thing for sure is that Google never do anything by half measures and they will give this project the attention it needs for them to succeed. Google has proven time and time again that they can be very competitive in the strongest of markets.

While other social networking sites like Facebook are capitalizing on this popular market, Google are certainly working hard to get in on the action. If Google can offer its members something enticing then there is no reason why they won't be successful in the social networking market. If you already have a Google account then you are already half way through the registration process with Orkut so why not go ahead and sign up to Orkut and start using this new social networking website to your advantage.

Vulnerabilities In Network Security

Vulnerabilities In Network Security
You work in a corporate environment in which you are, at least partially, responsible for network security. You have implemented a firewall, virus and spyware protection, and your computers are all up to date with patches and security fixes. You sit there and think about the lovely job you have done to make sure that you will not be hacked.

You have done, what most people think, are the major steps towards a secure network. This is partially correct. What about the other factors?

Have you thought about a social engineering attack? What about the users who use your network on a daily basis? Are you prepared in dealing with attacks by these people?

Believe it or not, the weakest link in your security plan is the people who use your network. For the most part, users are uneducated on the procedures to identify and neutralize a social engineering attack. What's going to stop a user from finding a CD or DVD in the lunch room and taking it to their workstation and opening the files? This disk could contain a spreadsheet or word processor document that has a malicious macro embedded in it. The next thing you know, your network is compromised.

This problem exists particularly in an environment where a help desk staff reset passwords over the phone. There is nothing to stop a person intent on breaking into your network from calling the help desk, pretending to be an employee, and asking to have a password reset. Most organizations use a system to generate usernames, so it is not very difficult to figure them out.

Your organization should have strict policies in place to verify the identity of a user before a password reset can be done. One simple thing to do is to have the user go to the help desk in person. The other method, which works well if your offices are geographically far away, is to designate one contact in the office who can phone for a password reset. This way everyone who works on the help desk can recognize the voice of this person and know that he or she is who they say they are.

Why would an attacker go to your office or make a phone call to the help desk? Simple, it is usually the path of least resistance. There is no need to spend hours trying to break into an electronic system when the physical system is easier to exploit. The next time you see someone walk through the door behind you, and do not recognize them, stop and ask who they are and what they are there for. If you do this, and it happens to be someone who is not supposed to be there, most of the time he will get out as fast as possible. If the person is supposed to be there then he will most likely be able to produce the name of the person he is there to see.

I know you are saying that I am crazy, right? Well think of Kevin Mitnick. He is one of the most decorated hackers of all time. The US government thought he could whistle tones into a telephone and launch a nuclear attack. Most of his hacking was done through social engineering. Whether he did it through physical visits to offices or by making a phone call, he accomplished some of the greatest hacks to date. If you want to know more about him Google his name or read the two books he has written.

It's beyond me why people try and dismiss these types of attacks. I guess some network engineers are just too proud of their network to admit that they could be breached so easily. Or is it the fact that people don't feel they should be responsible for educating their employees? Most organizations don't give their IT departments the jurisdiction to promote physical security. This is usually a problem for the building manager or facilities management. None the less, if you can educate your employees the slightest bit; you may be able to prevent a network breach from a physical or social engineering attack.

Security Network Planning and Computer Disaster Recovery

Security Network Planning and Computer Disaster Recovery

Whether from a virus, hacking or simply a fire or flood or other act of nature- there may come a time when you will experience a catastrophic loss of computer data. We will will help you be properly prepared to recover and get back to business as quickly as possible.

Network security solution and Network Disaster Recovery is sometimes overlooked for software and database systems – until it is too late. Have you ever thought how your business would function if the computer systems and software vanished – it happens to someone every day. The Ever Growing Challenges of Data Storage is an article about the issues with storing, maintaining, backing up and recovering data on today’s massive storage media.

Computer Disaster Recovery or Network Disaster Recovery is the process or set of steps initiated to bringing back to life and good health or replacing any beyond repair computers and networks and reinstalling all software and data so that all the computers or networks effected by the disaster are brought back to as near the state they were in before the disaster as possible.

The concept of having a computer disaster recovery plan was first mooted in the 70s as a result of several things that happen around that time – such as:

a)  The computer was seen as the new way of doing business – it was fast, super efficient, did the work of several employees and occupied less space.
b)  A business enterprise that used computers was seen as more efficient.
c)  Business enterprises went on a computer buying spree.
d)  Computer hardware in the 70’s to mid 80’s was very unreliable in that crashes due to hardware or software failure was frequent.
e)  Computer data stored on disks or tapes occupied less space than traditional files and ledgers.

As a result, many business houses began to do away with traditional means of recording data and some even advertised themselves as “paper less office”

Computer center managers therefore realized that it was only a matter of time before some disaster or the other (such as floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes or fires) destroyed the computers and the data with it. The realization made them formulate various computer and business disaster recovery plans and over a period of time, the procedures were perfected and the following general steps were adopted while setting up a Disaster recovery plan:

1.  Create a written business continuity plan i.e. in the event of a computer / business disaster; what steps should be taken so as to quickly get back to steam from same or different business location.

2.  Assign roles and responsibilities to your staff as well as service providers such as your IT & Networking Support Company

3.  Create a second tier management group. When disaster strikes, sometimes the personnel in charge of disaster recovery might not be available (due to injuries in a fire or earthquake). There should therefore be a second tier of trained personnel ready to take over the responsibilities.

4.  Identify a location for storing your backup data and also for restarting your business. Business establishments often rent out a decent warehouse for just such purpose.  Digital and non-digital backup data is stored here in secure fire-proof cabinets. An office layout plan is made and kept ready. In the event of a disaster, all that is required is to rent out / buy furniture and equipment and set it up – a process that might take three days or less.

5.  Have your IT & network security consulting company draw and implement a data backup plan for your company.

6.  If you company is a medium to large business establishment, consider hiring a disaster recovery consultant for planning and implementing an appropriate disaster recovery plan.

7.  Run a mock drill. It is a good idea to run a mock drill once a year. Go through it completely including hiring furniture, equipment, telephone and internet lines. It will give you a real idea of how effective your disaster recovery plan is and how it can be improved and the costs involved.

small business network security, network or business disaster recovery is easily possible if you have a disaster recovery plan in place. Lack of any such plan will lead to expensive delays in restarting your office and attempting to recover data from burnt/ destroyed/corrupted hardware. The cost of creating a disaster recovery plan is a tiny fraction compared to the cost of not having one in place. Affiliate Network

An Affiliate Network has a number of categories in which they have various offers. For example, a network may have Electronics as a category. Then under electronics various offers are provided so you can advertise them. An offer may be an Ipod or a headset. You then advertise them however you can in order to earn commission. Each offer has an affiliate link associated with it so the network can identify who ran traffic to the offer so they can pay accordingly. Commission varies based on the offer, the affiliate network, referrals, and how many products you've sold.

So why join an affiliate marketing network?

1.

Financial freedom-Many affiliates quit their jobs in the past to make money online. Joining an affiliate marketing network allows you to advertise a product without manufacturing, shipping, or creating one. All you have to do is find someone to buy the product from you. Affiliate marketing allows individuals to no longer do traditional marketing. You dont have to go door to door or make cold calls all day. Instead, there are millions of people online typing in a keyword for a product or service, and going on a social networking site as I type!

2. The sky is the limit-You can make as much money as you want. You dont have a set salary. Some become super affiliates, making thousands a day. However, it is no walk in the park. It takes time and dedication to effectively work online just like any other job.

The difference is the opportunities are endless.

So why not join an Affiliate Marketing Network and start advertising today? Hundreds of affiliates recommend Underground Elephant, so join us and you will see what everyone is talking about!

Try Networking

Try Networking

Networking in business is essential to make money. But does it really work? It all depends on how you define networking. One definition of networking is 'attending business functions and formal or informal meetings to gain potential clients.' Well, that's not really enough. It's only the first step. You need to do more that just turn up, announce who you are and what you do, and collect business cards.

If you do then all you are doing is making a guest appearance and add to your overflowing business card collection. Here is a quick test to see if you are effectively networking. Calculate how many business cards you have in your collection. Now, count how many of those cards have led to a business relationship or sale? If the answer is not very many, then you really are not networking effectively. You are just making meaningless contacts. You need to netWORK.

And effective netWORKing involves selecting those business people with whom you would like to work with.

If you jump at every opportunity and are desperate to make money, regardless of ethics, you may end up with the client from hell or people who will not benefit your business. And you may also lose your self -respect. Here are three selection criteria when networking.

1) Respect 2) Trust 3) Confidence

Focus on developing a relationship of respect, trust and confidence between the person and yourself. When you have achieved this then you can work with that person. And you will find by acting in a respectful, trusting and confidential way you will usually attract the same kind of people who you want to be associated with. If a person does not respond in the same way then you politely avoid forming a business relationship.

It is tempting at times to form a relationship with a person who you don't trust because of the lure of potential money.

But that is usually fools gold because that person will let you down in the future. If there is no respect, trust or confidence then there is no real relationship. So remember, when you network, make sure you do some real netWORKing.

Social Networking Security Awareness

Social Networking Security Awareness

One in five online consumers has been a victim of cybercrime in the past two years. Social networking is a direct link to the problem. While social networks allow you to keep in touch with family and friends, there are issues to be concerned about.

Most concerns revolve around online reputation management, identity theft, or physical security issues. Social networking creates a risk of posting content that will be damaging to yourself, your profile being hacked or your credentials being compromised, or inviting burglars to your home by publicizing your whereabouts.

Facebook faces a security challenge that few companies, or even governments, have ever faced: protecting more than 500 million users of a service that is under constant attack. I’m a huge proponent of “personal responsibility,” and that means that you are ultimately responsible for protecting yourself.

Keep your guard up.

Cybercriminals target Facebook frequently. Every time you click on a link, you should be aware of the risks.

Be careful about making personal information public. Sharing your mother’s name, your pet’s name, or your boyfriend’s name, for example, provides criminals with clues to guess your passwords.

Technology can help make social networking more secure. The most common threats to Facebook users are links to spam and malware sent from compromised accounts. Consumers must be sure to have an active security software subscription, and not to let it lapse.

Get a complimentary antivirus software subscription from McAfee.

Simply “like” McAfee’s Facebook page, go to “McAfee 4 Free,” and choose your country from the dropdown menu to download a six-month subscription to McAfee’s AntiVirus Plus software. The software protects users’ PCs from online threats, viruses, spyware, other malware, and includes the award-winning SiteAdvisor website rating technology. After the six-month McAfee AntiVirus Plus subscription period, Facebook users may be eligible for special discount subscription pricing.

Robert Siciliano is a McAfee consultant and identity theft expert. See him discuss hackers hacking social media on Fox Boston. (Disclosures)

Internet Network Marketing in Social Network Site

Internet Network Marketing in Social Network Site

Social marketing sites have become a great networking marketing site. Who could be better to promote your products and ideas with than your friends and family? The key to marketing success on social media sites is not only to market to your friends and family but to have them promote you to their friends and family as well. The possibilities are endless.

Many people have experienced advertising and promoting on a social media site through promotion of products. They use Internet marketing strategies through social media to sell and maximize their base. They put the link to their product on a social media site and encourage  friends and family to do the same. You can also send out emails to all of your friends and family with information on where and how to buy your product. This brings in a client base that you would normally have not been able to reach.

It is a very successful Internet networking marketing tool for many.

Many people have personally experienced a lot of their friends and relatives buying and selling items on social media sites. They also use social media and networking marketing to invite you to all types of multi level marketing parties. Who better to make recommendations than your friends and family?

One of the pitfalls of advertising and promoting through this networking marketing tool is that your continued e mails and promotions might wear on your network of friends and are not recommended on a daily or weekly basis because constantly badgering them about products might frustrate them. This tool is better used with one time products or invitations to parties that only occur occasionally. You do not want to burn bridges with daily promotions when you may need their support on more important projects.

People receive friend requests from a friend of a friend that really only wanted to promote their book or their business. Some people will accept these requests if they felt their items were in the range of their interests. Individuals have also added pages on subject matters that you may be interested in and they send out promotional materials.

For example, if you had a friend on your list that has started making corn hole boards he could use social media sites as a networking marketing tool for his friends and family. He could create a page so people can view the boards and get price information. This could be a very successful way of using social media as anetworking marketing tool.

The key to marketing success through a social media site is to get others to assist you with promoting your product. Otherwise, you will be limited to your friend and family base. If they put your information on their page and send a few emails to their friends they can help you optimize this marketing tool.

To succeed, send out those friend requests and ask them to help you make this a successful marketing tool. Without their support social media sites will not work as a marketing tool. Be a friend, support their causes, and comment on their pictures and like their comments. Maybe then they will assist you with marketing your product with a few clicks on their keyboard.

Planning Network Security

Posted on 09:27 by Unknown
Planning Network Security

The Need for Computer / Network Security:

Computer / network security includes:

Control of physical accessibility to computers / network
Prevention of accidental data
Erasure, modification, compromise
Detection and prevention of
Intentional internal security breaches
Unauthorized external intrusions (hacking)

All three legs of the triangle must exist for a network intrusion to occur:
Motive
A reason to want to breach your security
Means
The ability
Opportunity
The chance to enter the network
This last item is the administrator's only chance at controlling events.

Principles of Network Security:
Network security goals are sometimes identified as Confidentiality.
Only the sender and intended recipient should "see" the message Integrity.
Sender and receiver want to make sure that the message is not altered in transit, or afterwords.

Authentication
The sender and receiver want to confirm each other's identity Availability.
Services and resources must be available and accessible.

Understanding Risk Management:
A key principle of security is that no network is completely secure.
Information security deals principally with risk management.
The more important an asset, the more it is exposed to security threats, thus the more resources you must put into securing it.

Understanding Risk Management - 2:
In general, without training, administrators respond to a security threat in one of three ways:
Ignore the threat, or acknowledge it but do nothing to prevent it from occurring.
Address the threat in an ad hoc fashion.
Attempt to completely security all assets to the utmost degree, without regard for usability or manageability
None of these strategies take into account what the actual risk is, and all of them will usually lead to long-term failure.

What are Some Risks?
Eavesdropping
Interception of messages
Hijacking
Taking over the role of a sender or receiver.
Insertion
Of messages into an active connection
Impersonation
Spoofing a source address in a packet or any field in a packet
Denial of service (DOS).
Prevent others from gaining access to resources, usually by overloading system.

Managing Risk:
Once the assets and their corresponding threats have been identified risk management can consist of:
Acceptance
Mitigation
Transference
Avoidance

Accepting Risk:
If you take no proactive measures, you accept the full exposure and consequences of the security threats to an asset.
Should accept risk only as a last resort when no other reasonable alternatives exist, or when the costs are extremely high.
When accepting risk, it is always a good idea to create a contingency plan.
A contingency plan details a set of actions that will be taken after the risk is realized and will lessen the impact of the compromise of loss of the asset.

Mitigating Risk:
The most common method of securing computers and networks is to mitigate security risks.
By taking proactive measures either to reduce an asset's exposure to threats or reduce the organizations dependency on the asset, you are mitigating the security risk.
A simple example: installing antivirus software.

Transferring Risk:
Transfer security risk to another party has many advantage including:
Economies of scale, such as insurance.
Use of another organization expertise and services.
Example: using a web hosting service.
When undertaking this type of risk transference, the details of the arrangement should be clearly stated in a contract known as a service level agreement (SLA).

Avoiding Risk:
The opposite of accepting risk is to avoid the risk entirely.
To avoid risk, you must remove the source of the threat, exposure to the threat, or your organization reliance on the asset.
Generally, you avoid risk when there are little to no possibilities for mitigating or transferring the risk, or when the consequences of realizing the risk far outweigh the benefits gained from undertaking the risk.
An example can be a military or law enforcement dBase that, if compromised, could put lives at risk.

Implementing Security:
Think of security in terms of granting the least amount of privileges required to carry out the task.
Example: consider the case of a network administrator unwittingly opening an e-mail attachment that launches a virus.
If the administrator is logged on as the domain administrator, the virus will have administrator privileges on all computers in the domain and thus unrestricted access to nearly all data on the network.

Defense in Depth:
Imagine the security of your network as a series of layers.
Each layer you pull away gets you closer to the center, where the critical asset exists.
On your network, defend each layer as though the previous outer layer is ineffective or nonexistent.
The total security of your network will dramatically increase if you defend at all levels and increase the fault tolerance of security.
Example: to protect users from launching an e-mail-borne virus, in addition to antivirus software on the users' computers, you could use e-mail client software that blocks potentially dangerous file types from being executed, block potentially dangerous attachments according to their file type, and ensures that the user is running under a limited user account.

Reducing the Attack Surface:
An attacker needs to know of only one vulnerability to attack your network successfully, whereas you must pinpoint all you vulnerabilities to defend your network.
The smaller your attack surface, the better chance you have of accounting for all assets and their protection.
Attackers will have fewer targets, and you will have less to monitor and maintain.
Example: to lower the attack surface of individual computers on your network, you can disable services that are not used and remove software that is not necessary.

Addressing Security Objectives:
Controlling Physical Access to
Servers
Networked workstations
Network devices
Cabling plant
Being aware of security considerations with wireless media related to portable computers.
Recognizing the security risk.
Of allowing data to be printed out.
Involving floppy disks, CDs, tapes, other removable media.

Recognizing Network Security threats:
To protect your network, you must consider the following:
Question: from whom or what are you protecting if?
Who: types of network intruders and their motivations.
What: types of network attackers and how they work.
These questions form the basis for performing a threat analysis.
A comprehensive threat analysis should be the product of brainstorming among people who are knowledgeable about the business processes, industry, security, and so on.

Classifying specific Types of Attacks:
Social engineering attacks
DOS attacks
Scanning and spoofing
Source routing and other protocol exploits
SOFTWARE and system exploits
Trojans, Viruses and worms

It is important to understand the types of threats in order to deal with them properly.

Designing a Comprehensive Security Plan:
RFC2196, the Site Security Handbook.
Identify what your are trying to protect.
Determine what you are trying to protect it from.
Determine how likely the anticipated threats are.
Implement measures that will protect your assets in a cost-effective manner.
Review the process continually and make improvements each time a weakness is discovered.

Steps to Creating a Security Plan:
Your security plan will generally consist of three different aspects of protecting your network.
Prevention: the measures that are implemented to keep your information from being modified, destroyed, or compromised.
Detection: the measures that are implemented to recognize when a security breach has occurred or has been attempted, and possibly, the origin of the breach.
Reaction: the measures that are implemented to recover from a security breach to recover lost or altered data, to restore system or network operations, and to prevent future occurrences.

Security Ratings:
The U.S.

government provides specifications for the rating of network security implementations in a publication often referred to as the Orange Book, formally called the DOD Trusted Computer System.
Evaluation criteria, or TCSEC.
The Red book, or Trusted Network Interpretation of the TCSEC (TNI) explains how the TCSEC evaluation.
criteria are applied to computer networks.
Canada has security rating systems that work in a similar way.
CTPEC

Security Ratings -2:
To obtain a government contract, companies are often required to obtain a C2 rating.
A C2 rating has several requirements.
That the operating system in use be capable of tracking access to data, including both who accessed it and when it was accessed.
That users' access to objects be subject to control (access permissions).
That users are uniquely identified on the system (user account name and password).
That security-related events can be tracked and permanently recorded for auditing (audit log).

Browser Vendors Pointing The Country Secure Network Consumer Market - The Browser, Network Security
HC Network Security A time when early winter, with the advent of the global two Ruixue Financial Crisis gradually retreat to meet "Estuary of the Snow," saying, all sectors are showing strong signs of recovery. Among E-commerce Market , With the development of the Internet has gradually become a new model for business activities, more and more people conduct business via the Internet. Stock trading, shopping, real-time transfer, or purchase of electricity by water recharge and other common user habits are systematically transferred to the Internet. , With the consumption of heat network Xing, tried to use the Internet to behind the huge profits are waiting in the wings waiting for an opportunity latent insecurity, Web application security functions more and more public concern. According to Duba Cloud Security Center monitoring data show that in September, "50,680 sites were Detect Trojan hanging out, surveyed over 8,166,442 people; 7,882 sites were identified fishing behavior, number of visitors reached 14,458,896 people more. "Clearly, the web page linked to horses, phishing sites are still hundreds of millions of Internet users in China's two biggest threats to Internet security, predictability and Internet software vendors Technology R & D capability is a strong backing to protect network security.

Browser as a user access to the Internet's first entrance, the security protection against viruses growing importance. To this end, the reporter visited the largest professional research and development center browser? Maxthon (Maxthon) browser. According to Maxthon R & D Center for Chen Xiaoxu said, with the Internet becoming more and more closely integrate with reality, how to protect networks of personal information is very important. For the regular consumer in terms of online shopping, select a user-friendly and a good browser security can not only optimize online shopping process, but also the maximum virus, Trojan horse nipped in the bud stage.

Same time, the official also said that future browser will assume the duties of the operating system, must have professional and comprehensive security features. Maxthon a year ago began offering the browser security mechanisms, and through close cooperation between the well-known companies, is committed to a more secure and reliable browser development. In addition, in the first half and focus on solving the e-commerce cooperation Alipay security, stability and other issues, most recently and Jinshan cooperation, the official launch of version Maxthon web browser shields together to protect the user's browsing the web more secure, but also become the Baidu, MSN, the Jinshan Yun security plan is another important partner.

Now, along with the network security situation, simply relying on the browser or anti-virus software can not always escape the barriers behind closed doors. In terms of the domestic Internet companies, Internet security situation in close connection with changes in the demand does not affect the premise of user applications, to enhance communication with other vendors to integrate use of all technical resources to provide users with multiple levels of protective measures , maximum consumer protection network security.

Intrusion Detection Software: Guarding Network Security

Information systems and networks are prone to electronic attacks. There has been everyday expansion in the attempts to breach information security, backed by the accessibility of vulnerability assessment tools readily present and free on the Internet. These tools can easily scan, monitor, identify and probe the systems. Firewalls can block unauthorized access to the enterprise networks and is doing a good job guarding your front door. But what do you do when there is a backdoor or a hole in the infrastructure? Intrusion detection system is the answer.

Intrusion Detection System Lacing Security with Network

IDS or Intrusion Detection System monitors flow of traffic on a network. It prepares information systems and deals with the attacks. The task is carried out by gathering information from diverse systems and network sources.

The information is then compiled to analyze possible security attacks.

This system protects your enterprise set up by identifying, logging, reporting and sending alarm. It drops the corrupted packet present in the network, and then blocks the traffic from the IP address from where the malicious packet is coming from.

Intrusion detection software can safeguard the network environment in the following ways:

1-   Detecting and analyzing user’s and system’s activities

2-   Checking of system configurations and vulnerabilities

3-   Assessing the integrity of critical system and data files

4-   Statistical monitoring of activity patterns based on matching to known attacks

5-   Monitoring abnormal activity analysis

6-   Operating system audit

This system leads to network security by adding integrity to the rest of the infrastructure, and it traces the user’s activity and point of impact.

The essence of the system can be judged by the automated task performed by IDS. It reviews the internet, searching the latest attacks. It also signals when the system is under attack. It is also useful is guiding the system administrator to establish the policy required for computing assets.

IDS is a necessary tool for network security. It has to be implemented in the organization to remain safe from electronic attacks. Deploying of intrusion detection software demands research and planning; and its configuration invites a world of benefits, but its negligence can be a huge headache. This concept has to be changed properly; and if you leave it, the results can be disastrous. The security administrator of a company should keep himself updated of recent notifications so that the enterprise is not left behind and will not lead to failure.

Network security is highly important in the contemporary scenario. Apart from firewalls and antivirus, network has to be aided with intrusion detection software.

Designing Secure Communications Between Networks

Posted on 11:48 by Unknown
Designing Secure Communications Between Networks
This chapter presents the skills and concepts related to creating a CompTIA security design framework. This training kit assumes that you have a minimum of 1 year of experience implementing and administering desktop operating systems and network operating systems in environments that have the following characteristics:

At least 250 supported users
Three or more physical locations
Typical network services such as messaging, database, file and print, proxy server or firewall, Internet and intranet, remote access, and client computer management
Three or more domain controllers Connectivity needs, including connecting branch offices and individual users in remote locations to the corporate network and connecting corporate networks to the Internet
In addition, you should have experience designing a network infrastructure.
Many design exercises are paper-based; however, to understand the technical capabilities that a design can incorporate, you should have some hands-on experience with products. Where specific hands on instruction is givenCompTIA A+ certification, you must have at least two computers configured as specified in the "Getting Started" section at the beginning of this book.

Data traveling between trusted networks is subject to capture, diversion, and cor?ruption. And the computers between which data travels might themselves be compromised. The people who manage the networks might be uninformed, overworked, or lack the necessary skills to protect data as it moves from place to place. For these reasons, you must understand how to secure communications between networks.
User authentication is via PPP authentication protocols. Password authentication
protocol (PAP), which sends a plain-text password across the network, is very
rarely used.
Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) uses the MD5 hashing protocol to encrypt challenge strings. Only the user name crosses the network in plain text. The server must store a plain-text copy of the password, or store the password using a reversible encryption algorithm, as is the case in Windows Server 2003. CHAP is generally used only when UNIX clients are present.
Microsoft CHAP (MS-CHAP) uses an MD4 hash, and the server can store a hashed password. The protocol provides more sophisticated error messagesincluding a
password-expired error code, which then provides the ability to change a password during the authentication phase. The client and server independently create
the encryption key MS CHAP requires for MPPE encryption based on the free Cisco questions user's password. MS-CHAP should be used only if you have Windows 95 clients.

Network and computer Security services by BEL Network Integration & Support

In the field of Computer Networking support, the specializer area of network security consists of the plannings and policies adopted by the Computer network administrator and networking consultant to prevent and monitor without official authorization access, misuse, modification, or denial of the computer network and network-accessible resources.

Network installation service and security is the process of preventing and detecting unauthorized use of your computer. Prevention measures help you to stop unauthorized users (also known as “intruders”) from accessing any part of your computer system. Detection helps you to determine whether or not someone attempted to break into your system, if they were successful, and what they may have done.

The term network security refers to steps taken with the intention of protecting your computer and data network of threats from Trojan horses, worms, viruses, ad ware, hacker attacks, spyware, denial of service attacks, identity theft and theft by data interception.

In short, network support services measures are implemented to protect the computers in your office by ensuring their integrity, reliability, usability and safety of your computer network and data.

Effective network security targets a variety of threats and stops them from entering or spreading on your network.

Implementation of Network Security
To better understand its implementation, let us consider a hypothetical example. Let us assume a new Fort Knox was being setup and you were in charge of its security.

How would you go about ensuring the security of the vault and the bank in general?

You would probably want to start at the vault itself by building one of solid steel or titanium having three feet thickness or so. The thickness would make it impervious to drilling or even powerful blasts. Then you would probably install movement detectors, heat detectors and tremor sensors. For the vault door itself you would probably want to use the world’s best locking system controlled by two or more authorized personnel. Moving one layer ahead, you might consider it a good idea to have a posse of security guards to prevent all but only authorized personnel from approaching the vault and so on. In other words, you would rely on several measures implemented like layers of an onion. And that is also exactly how computer network and data security measures are implemented – there is no one particular software or hardware rather, it is several measures implemented at several levels.

All these measures need to be reviewed no less than once a year because hackers and malicious software creators quickly learn how to bypass your security measures by hard work, sheer ingenuity and lots of skill. Computer network even includes your peripheral and communication devices. Hackers are known to routinely hack into the telephone network, pretend to be an authorized employee and phone up the system administrator to request that the password to a certain computer or wifi router be reset. A few seconds is all it takes for the hacker to get into your computer system.

Network security services and measures include but are not limited to installation of up-to-date anti-virus and anti-spyware, anti-adware, properly configured state-of-the-art firewalls, intrusion prevention systems and virtual private networks (VPN’s), to ensure secure remote access.

Major Benefits of Network Security
A good network security ensures that your company meets the mandatory regulatory compliance because network security helps protect sensitive data and reduces the risk of legal action from affected parties due to data theft. Network Security also saves your company a lot of embarrassment by not getting bad media attention that follows any security breach, it also protects from unwanted (and usually expensive) disruptions. Ultimately, network security ensures the protection of your most important asset – your business reputation.

Networking Management

Networking Management

Today it is nearly improbable for a business not to have PCs, whether or not it is a construction company or a high technology firm. When a business has more than one PC, they're nearly always connected together in a neighborhood network. These networks might be nearly complicated and thus kind of pricey.

Firms invest so much ( vis both time and cash ) in a neighborhood networks because there are several advantages a neighborhood network brings to a business and how it is administered.

Some firms utilize a neighborhood network in such a manner they're highly dependent upon it mostly working. If the organization's's network fails, then you will see all of the staff speaking away in the corridors because they can not do their work. This suggests huge losses for the company and causes pressures on the workers. All corporations must consider their neighborhood networks a critical asset and down time must be evaded.

This imposes massive demands on the network staff to keep such networks running about a hundred percent of the time.

The benefits of PC Network Management

One of the key benefits of installing and maintaining LANs is the break they create for better communication and cooperation between workers and clients.

Security points to consider : neighborhood Network security can be both a help and hindrance. All-encompassing security is beneficial as it offers a central and safe methodology for information access and accident recovery. All info is guarded by the design and implementation of the network security solution. From another viewpoint, interconnecting PCs in neighborhood networks creates a risk to security, since doing so makes it technically possible for trespassers to access many machines on the network right now.

Cost issues : Installing a neighborhood network is a comparatively pricey project.

Servers, wiring, switches, routers and software can all be pricey and should never be acquired without expert recommendation. Keeping the network operating and secure also needs a large amount of resources and can be expensive.

Amazingly , a neighborhood network can bring a considerable number of savings. Sharing resources avoids the necessity to purchase kit for every individual. Far more significant is the safety a neighborhood network can provide. Information loss could cost a business a good deal of money and in a number of cases, cause the business to shutdown altogether. Computer Network Management should need a consistent routine for information backups with consistent checkups of info quality - a practice that may save a company large sums in the eventuality of a mishap.

PC Network Management : initial research phases

The first section of PC network management is to pinpoint the source of the issue ( an initial study that looks into a few options of differing scope might be helpful here ) and outlining it in a design of wants. Examples of what should ideally be evaluated are dissimilar network operating systems, mail systems, and other applications. The selection of hardware elements should additionally be evaluated. This phase is often directed at building what the system should do, not how it should do it.

PC Network Management : design phase

The intention of design phase is to work out how the prerequisites of the blueprint are going to be met. The present approach to giant, complex projects is to damage them down into smaller, more controllable subprojects.

PC Network Management : implementation phase

This phase involves the physical installation of the neighborhood network. Wires are run, software is installed, and PCs and other hardware are implemented.

PC Network Management: integration and system testing phase

In this phase, commissioning of the network starts, and routines are evolved to users and the operating staff. The system must be tested, both to guarantee the networking meets the prerequisites set down in the blueprint and that it's stable enough to perform the central function it has in the organization.

PC Network Management: operation and upkeep neighborhood networks have complicated operating routines.

This is as there could be significant results when faults happen or unapproved people get access to the system. Many firms have workers devoted only to look after running and maintaining PC networks. These system directors may handle network issues like performance, trustworthiness and security of both hardware and software.

Network Storage

A storage system is machine which is used to store information in memory. Short-term storage refers to retailer knowledge for sure interval of time. Many several types of devices have been invented which will depend on usage. A computer system incorporates many kinds of storages every with a person goal of functioning. With no explicit amount of reminiscence the pc instantly can not perform the fastened operations. Primary Network Storage or foremost memory refers to a memory which is straight accessible to CPU (Central Processing Unit) which it reads the information and performs according to the required given instructions. Important reminiscence is related immediately or indirectly to the CPU via a memory bus. Secondary storage or exterior reminiscence differs from primary reminiscence which is not straight linked to CPU.

It makes use of an enter access to connect the system to switch the required data. Now day’s storage gadgets developed to Network Storage which has extra features. There are two kinds of devices NAS (Network Hooked up Storage) and SAN (Storage Space Community). NAS is a mass storage attach to a pc which one other system can access the pc via internet have been we can store, share or use a file. SAN is a specialised Network Storage during which multiple techniques were hook up with a server and all system might be interconnected and allowed to alternate, store and share the files. Right here all knowledge are saved within the server and is well can retrieve from the server. It is also doable to share or store the files from remote locations. Photo Networking

Photo Networking
Pictures say a thousand words and indeed they are the best means to keep memories alive. Whether its your friends wedding or your first birthday it is actually possible to live bygone moments even after decades. However, lovely memories are best cherished when shared with your loved ones.

Here comes the significance of photo online sharing in the present era. Prior to the advent of the digital age, the most popular means of photo sharing was to take double or triple prints and either mail them or give them to the person we wanted to share with. But then, this was not only expensive but also time-consuming.

The dawn of the digital age and Internet to be specific has been instrumental in easing out the photo online sharing methods. Especially, the free online photo sharing websites available have made things further hassle free. No emails, no attachments; you simply need to upload photos and specify the email address of the people on your Photo rating list.

You can even create albums and display them on any social networking account you have. Since there are varied photo online sharing websites available, finding a few trendy websites that stand out in the crowd is tricky. Below is a list of four photo-sharing websites that are not only popular and offer free online photo sharing, they are the trendiest of the lot as well.

It is still the reigning portal in terms of features, popularity and audience when it comes to online photo sharing websites. Originally envisaged as a video game screenshot sharing portal in 2002, Flickr soon surfaced as an online photo sharing website with a bustling community. Even though, this Yahoo! owned portal offers limited space and often users are pressed to pay for unlimited accounts, Flickr users are increasing every single day. The portal allows unlimited uploading, sharing and other features. A recently included feature is the video sharing facility.

Another prominent contender to the title of trendy photo online sharing website, Photobucket is a favorite among the younger people. A few years back, this portal was popular as the most hassle free image hosting and sharing portal, especially, for online community forums and blogging sites such as MySpace, etc. With Photobucket you can create and share albums, devise slide shows and share them too. The site has recently turned eyeballs with its technology driven features. It attracts both amateur and professional photographers.

A popular pick among university and college forums, Shutterfly is another name among the trendy and popular online photo sharing portals on the web. This website allows you to upload, edit, mail-to-order and even print photos. However, the reason behind its popularity among student forums is the unique feature of the portal allowing teams and groups to share and even use photos on several other websites.

Though a paid photo online sharing website, Smugmug is the first choice among professional photographers. However, the best part of the portal is its attractive and user-friendly interface which turns it into one of the trendiest portals in the true sense. ThCult: For starters, TheCult is by far the coolest photo sharing website. Its interesting interface offers images displayed under different categories. You can upload any kind of image you like and share it with nth number of people you want.
